Information for professionals

Professionals

If you work with people with addictive sexual behaviors, SAA can be a complement to your treatment, and for clients who speak Spanish it is available in their own language. Here you will find official pamphlets in English, free and authorized for sharing.

If you have a client who speaks Spanish, or mostly Spanish, and you want to share information about sex addiction with them, ASA Hispana is here for that person, in Spanish: meetings, literature, and support in their own language. The pamphlets below are in English, so you can review them first. This page also exists in a Spanish version, ready to share with your client.

Is your client coming to you because of pornography?

It is the most common way in. That page brings together verbatim quotes from the SAA Green Book, self-assessment questions, and quotes from the official pamphlet on internet sexual behaviors. Please note: that page is available only in Spanish, written for your client.

What is SAA

Sex Addicts Anonymous is an international fellowship founded in 1977, where people of all genders and orientations share their experience, strength, and hope to find freedom from their addictive sexual behavior.

The program

The recovery program is based on the Twelve Steps. There are no dues or fees: SAA is supported by voluntary contributions from its members. It is not affiliated with any specific religion, creed, or dogma.

What it offers and what it does not do

SAA offers meetings, sponsorship, and recovery literature. It does not offer therapy, diagnoses, medical treatment, or professional counseling. Many professionals recommend it as a complement to treatment.

Free resources

SAA publishes the newsletter The Outer Circle, offers orientation packets for professionals and for the media, and can provide speakers for events. Many meetings are open to professional observers.

How to refer a client

Referring someone to SAA is simple: there are no forms, sign-ups, or prior requirements.

Point them to a meeting

The meeting directory lists in-person, virtual, and telephone meetings in Spanish. Your client can attend with no sign-up, without giving their name, and at no cost.

Hand them a pamphlet

The pamphlet “What to Expect at Your First SAA Meeting” explains what they will find and the basic guidelines. You can download and print it below, in English or in Spanish.

Offer a first contact

If your client has questions before attending, they can write through the chat (in Spanish) and we will gladly guide them.

Meetings and direct contact

Official pamphlets in English
